California Opens Coronavirus Disaster Relief Assistance Program for Undocumented Families

We want to make sure our Board District 5 families know that, on Monday, California’s Coronavirus Disaster Relief Assistance program for undocumented immigrants began taking applications. Undocumented adults 18-years-old or older can receive a one-time payment of $500 in direct assistance, with a maximum of $1000 per household.

You can apply through three immigration nonprofits who are handling this: CARECEN, CHIRLA, and Asian Americans Advancing Justice. We’ve listed the websites and phone numbers for these organizations below. There are a lot of people calling right now, so it might take a while to talk to a representative.

We hope everyone in our school communities who is eligible for this program can take advantage of these resources.

Stay well, wash your hands often, and keep staying at home as much as possible!
